Our International and EU Department
The International department closely monitors European legislation and contributes its expertise to the European legislative process in a number of ways : by responding to public consultations, by participating in meetings, conferences and public hearings, by co-operating with its European partners, by meeting European decision makers to discuss specific issues. The French Medical Council has a representative office to the European Institutions in Brussels.

European Partners
The European Council of Medical Orders is an organisation of European medical regulatory bodies, the aim of which is to promote high quality medical care at European level in the best interests of patients. The French Medical Council is responsible for its secretariat.

www.ceom-ecmo.eu The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) is a European association created in 1958. It represents the National Medical Associations of 28 countries in Europe. The French Medical Council joined CPME in January 2015.

www.cpme.eu The European Network of Medical Competent Authorities (ENMCA) brings together the Medical Competent Authorities of countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) responsible for the recognition of medical qualifications, pursuant to Directive 2013/55/EU. Together with its British and German counterparts, the French Medical Council coordinates the Network’s activities.

www.enmca.eu The European Association of Senior Hospital Physicians (AEMH) was created in 1963. It provides a European platform for hospital physicians’ associations from 17 national delegations. The AEMH uses the valuable expertise of specialists in order to promote hospital management based on quality and safety in the European Union.
